1997 Seadweller stop running

So, my 21 year old SD stoped almost wile I was looking at it... I am currently working in St Croix so I don't feel like there will be any way I can get it serviced. Ill be here for about six months so my question is, can I still wear it. It will start and run for a few min and then stop again. I don't feel safe leaving it in my room wile I am at work so I'd like to keep it on. If anyone knows a trusted service tech in the UVI I would consider having it looked at here.

At this point it shouldnt make a difference whether you continue to wear it or not - unless something is broken internally- can you hear anything rattling when shaking it? If not, you should be good.

Either way, 6 months is a long time. If this was my situation, Id probably send it away for service.

I think there is a Rolex dealer on St Thomas? Dose anyone have any info on that location. Also, will Rolex still service the models that are 20 + years old??

Yes, the dealer is A.H. Riise and they do have an in-house service department. Watch is not too old at all. The same ref. 3135 movement is still being used today in some watches.

Yea, I'm a fan of the 3135 over the 3235. I have had it in subs as far back as 1988 and in a Turn-O-Graph and Yacht Master. I was sure that the movement was not an issue but I hear that Rolex them selfs are turning away some of the older models for other reasons. In this case I'm sure the gas escape valve has change in 20 years. This might not even be true, you know how crap starts.. I've been trying to get A.H. Riise on the phone but no luck yet.
