Incoming: Vintage 1960 IWC from auction

I got my hands on this beauty at auction for a steal. A 1960s IWC automatic White Gold Champaign dail, what appears to be enamel and white gold indicators, and the Cal. 8541B movement with beryllium balance wheel.

Its got a cushion like case and at even at 35mm looks like a modern sized round watch. The IWC logo also appears to be polished white gold and are much nicer than the current print logos you get on most modern watches.

It has a super smooth winding for a 50+ y/o watch but it does not have a quickset date. However it does have a very clear click feedback when you move the time back from 12:00 to show when you can move the date forward. Also it has hacking seconds which surprised me, as most older movements tend to not have and even many modern day Patek's don't have.

Feels like a breath of fresh air for me who is used to wearing SS sports watches :)

I dig it. The dial is quite elegant.

I dont normally like vintage IWCs but I really like this. Its got a bit of a retro PP vibe to it IMO
