Need help
Hey guys I'm thinking of upgrading to the AP ROO 26400SO
Or the 26401 in rose gold old dial. I'm a one watch guy and I assume the RG44 Would be hard to wear as a daily. Also considering the daydate40. For about the same price I could have a solid gold Rolex or a stainless steel offshore. I love the design on AP a tad bit more than the daydate. Any input would be appreciated 😅 |

There's your answer.
The 26401 RG old dial is my only one and I don't see much trouble with wearing 24/7. It's comfortable enough and most people don't know what it is. That said, I wear the Apple Watch most of the time

You can wear a 44mm any version 24/7. When my 44mm RG comes, it will be on my wrist every day. At least until I get something else lol.

I would choose the AP, the Rolex is nice but AP is a class above, plus you don't get everyone who sees your watch wonder if it's real or how rich you are to have a 40K Rolex...

When I had the 42 rose gold offshore I only wore it 1-2 times per week. I think that is because I was conscious of it being gold and maybe, on reflection, I couldn't carry it off. However since I went to the 44 I'm not conscious of it and have worn it continuously......until I scratched it.

Really dig the RG44. What about the staying power.
Sorry if I offend anyone but the daydate is a classic, Will the rg44 be classic in 30 years? I am a AP noob. Had a royal oak for a week on, love the finishing and details. |

Dude, you are over complicating this. If you like the 44 and can afford it, buy it. If you get bored, sell it. Will lose a few bucks, no big deal.

Indeed. I gave up wondering if anything will be awesome in 30 years. Who the hell knows if I'll be alive. Chances of me owning a watch for 30 years are slim to none. |

Yes I got a hairline scratch, it was winding me up as I understood ceramic to be scratch proof. The replacement cost is £2100, maybe I should have just left it but I wanted the watch to be like new. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Agree with Serg, the RG 44 is a fantastic piece, and I'd then add a SS Subc later, that's a better pairing.

I thought so too however I'm sure the Rolex ceramic will be the same. I honestly don't know how I did it as I've worn APs for about 10 years and I'm careful with them. I have to say that I love this new 44 and I have been wearing it for everything, gym, squash, running, sauna, swimming, work, even building Lego with my son it could have happened anywhere. Out of interest the dealer claimed that he couldn't see it but maybe that was because I mentioned it in the same sentence as 'warranty'. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

However, if you need motivation ... this thing is AWESOME!. I don't know about 30 years from now, but I don't see what would I want to swap this for (except maybe the new dial ... I am undecided there).

ehhhh looks like a sub. All those no sub dial rolex look the same. All too similar.
I like the daytona but without the ceramic dial. Honestly to hell with a rolex. I rather a SS ROC or the 15202. Or even a 15400. I think maybe the only rolex I ever buy will be an all rose gold daytona paul newman or yellow gold sub blue dial. |

All these brands should really stop saying ceramic is scratch proof. It can be (anything short of a diamond), but not the kind of ceramic they use. It's just marketing BS. |

It pretty much is. The problem with the AP is the fine finishing. It is much much more likely to show a scratch than the Rolex ceramic inserts. More common would be a chip on the sharp edge of the AP bezel.

So a super hard ceramic will never scratch (unless a diamond scratches it), but it will break fairly easily. They had to reduce the hardness so that it doesn't break on every little bump. I mean it takes a very hard whack on something metal to chip the ceramic. |

True. I was surprised when I got a scratch on the forged carbon 44, ceramic bezel, wasn't expecting it. All it takes is something with a higher wicker rating, or sharp like you said. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
