I understand the hype

I never gave AP a second look well today I was in London Jewelers on the miracle mile and if anyone has ever been in that store its a candy store for the WIS they have every high end brand I was there to look specifically at an Omega Moonphase and on my way out stopped at the AP counter and tried on a chrono..... well now I get it the bracelet is awesome and comfortable and watch lays perfectly on the wrist instantly comfortable I must say I am quite taken with the sheer quality of the piece

Yes, the designs are a bit polarising, same for PP and RM, but the high quality feel and finish is unmistakable.

Looks like entry level into AP is around 13K from a trusted seller for a 15400.

The finishing is instantly noticeable, especially by the wearer which is what truly matters IMO

That's about right. The royal oak is one of the only watches that really felt special when I put it on. It's an awakening not unlike the first time you put a Rolex on. It just clicks.

I now get the hype too. I was in Vegas recently and tried on a few APs. As soon as I got home I pulled the trigger on a beautiful silver dial 15400 from Takuya (at about a 1,500.00 discount vs. the AD). The look and finishing of this watch is amazing.

That's exactly the piece I would be looking for I have a bias towards black face pieces but that silver looks pretty awesome and it has to have a steel bracelet

Is that the London Jewelers in the Americana Mall in Nassau County, Long Island? It is a nice store. I was anti-Royal Oak until a salesperson asked me if I ever tried one on. Uh oh, they are nice looking on the wrist. If you've only seen pictures on the internet or looked at them in the case, try one on and get back to me with your thoughts.

This is the first white dial watch I've ever owned. My collection is either black or blue dial. Needed to brighten it up a bit. I think this AP is going to be pretty versatile.

I had, like most of us here, 4 Rolex in all, and I much prefer having watches that 99.9% of the people know nothing about rather than Rolexes where people will think that you are very rich to be having such a watch, my watches cost much more but nobody ever noticed any of them, and that's much better

It was finally seeing one on my wrist that turned my opinion round on the RO too. It was the skeleton dial version I tried, forget the ref. no.
