Big, gimmicky boxes are a turn off. However, well-made boxes of meaningful proportions are always welcome. What JLC did to its packaging is basically a crime. If you don't want to deal with fanciness, go the Rolex way and package watches in a no-nonsense enclosure. If you want to be fancy, be fancy.
JLC is just lazy and quite a bit lame in that area.

Had a JLC Master Control Date once, thought the box was okay but what annoyed me was the pillow never sat snug in the recess, so that if the watch was in the box it would just jiggle around!
