It keeps the lubricants circulating through your watch. If you want a car analysis, it would be like letting your antique sit, and have the fuel tank and lines gummed up.

I don’t use them myself but that’s because I enjoy setting the watch every time I rotate.

I have a wolf 3 slot winder. It’s a luxury, not a need. A fun way to display and interact with my watches. All part of the hobby for me.

I have ordered a dual watch winder (post #30 this thread) from Wolf but because I only have three watches and rotate then daily I can't see much use for it. As I change watches I simply wind the watch worn 30 times, and then hide it away in the safe. Seems to work for me.
