I agree with this. A optimistic mind would view it as building relationship while a pessimistic mind would call it something totally opposite. Everything we feel about something is largely about our perspective of it, not the thing itself. It's all about perspective.

You would have been better off if you had reversed the order, looks like a flipper's wish list as it is.

I have to take issue with this:

Many of us (who have landed allocation pieces from ADs at MSRP) recognize that the OP made a couple crucial mistakes:

Patton250 wasn't wrong about that post.

"Help me, and I'll help you." Any deviations from that is usually one side being a little greedier than the other. OP, it's not that we're trying to discourage you from buying through the AD as much as we're encouraging you to not count on one AD. You'll be disappointed when the years pile up and there's nothing to show for it.

I would think when you told this store you bought a watch online that you were on a list for from them, they may have been nice but now will not sell you anything hard to get. Even mentioning grey dealers or the grey market in general in an AD is a real bad idea.

I've been hearing a lot more of this. Perhaps the winds of change are blowing?

Likely, very likely. Perhaps thinks of him as a potential flipper as he was asking for all the hot models.

Your AD also wants to build a relationship with you. Stoping in lets them know that you're willing to put the time in and probably aren't just trying to make a quick buck. If you keep in touch, I think he can get you a Sub in that time frame.

Wishing you the best....but don't hold your breath.
It's been at least 18 months since my AD told me my Hulk would come in in the next 3 months...or sooner! |

Good luck to you. Nothing wrong with getting to know your AD. I stop by my mine every few months because I enjoy seeing what they have and talking watches.

This is exactly how it works. I just bought my BLRO and like others have said before I’m not a VIP by any means.

I enjoy talking watches with true enthusiasts and curious newbies... whomever they may be. Could also be about Grandfather clocks, or pocket watches. Perhaps the JLC Atmos desk clock.... Enjoy Your Time
