I bought a titanium series 5 the day it came out and it came with the same wired charger as the original series 1 did

I have a series 3. It’s been great to be able to trail run, use strava and still be able to make a call if needed without having my iPhone. I’m upgrading to the series 5 this weekend. The battery life is better for ultras. Using the strava app, I could only get 3-4 hours out of my 3. The 5 is supposed to be at least double. Of course I only use it for running, hiking, paddle boarding, biking, etc. I’d never wear it as “my watch”.

I recommend it, use mine for travel, working out. For the price may as well give it a try. Had first I didn’t like it at all, after I’d say 3 days I enjoy it. I thought the charging would drive me crazy, but it’s simple with the wireless charging.

No one can deny the great functionality, they’re awesome. The design, however, is quite possibly the least uninspiring wristwear I’ve ever seen.

Be careful, I bought the SS series 4 and it’s kinda ruined mechanical watches for me. It does everything I need, cellular service, Apple Pay it really is a true tool watch.

So phone and service for 24 months is about 20 per month.

That’s 480 for 2 years

It’s happening once I get home. Have to call since no availability at the store
More excited about this purchase than your next RM.

I don’t need to be any more connected than I am with a smartphone in my pocket. Funnily enough since you mentioned them, I’d buy several G-Shocks for the price of one Apple Watch. Indeed I find G-Shock shopping scratches the watch itch and gives that little dopamine hit without making a dent in my wallet. Furthermore a Tough Solar, whilst being nigh-on indestructible in day to day use unlike any wrist computer, will also outlast a smart watch by a couple of decades. You may have zero interest in Casios, but it’s worth bearing in mind when comparing the costs.
Agree

My iPhone is plenty enough without having an addition on my wrist. How did the human race survive before smartphones & smartwatches. Maybe that’s just age talking :,)

Plenty of nice seikos, Casio’s, etc for scratching the itch as you say

I hope you find it useful. I grew weary of my Fitbit's electronic "noise." I think a little iPhone on my wrist would drive me bonkers. I think I am starting to shy away from being so immersed.

I just ordered an Apple Watch 5 Hermès. Yeah, big fat snob. I need the health features/health monitor my Rolex and Cartier lack. If it helps me drop weight it’s worth buying the stupid watch.

I prefer Swiss mechanical watches.

I just don’t have a need for a watch that connects to my phone to give me most of the same information that’s already on my phone.

If anything, I hope to one day move away from electronic devices. Freedom

My wife thought we were buying 3 watches.... I said no. Just the 1 ...really want the kid to have access to a phone in case of emergencies at school.

I’ve thought about getting one just for the gym / running / biking. But waiting for better Spotify integration . I can’t see wearing one outside of exercising - as a few others have mentioned, i feel way to “connected” already w just a phone, and I love my watches. I think the idea of kids having it for the emergency call situation if it is in lieu of an iPhone at school is great .

I don't mind the looks but the battery life is just too short to get me hooked. Different story if the battery lasted 7 days.

My wife has the S5 and although she didn't wanted it at the first place, she is loving it now. It really lets her move more.

The always on display is not putting a lot more stress on the battery. She always has around 40% left when she goes to bed.

I can't wear one cause of my tattoo sleeves, tried it many times in the past. And i also don't want to put my watches in a safe for it.

I've had an Apple Watch since the Series 0. Currently, I have a S4 and it's been getting the majority of wrist time lately. There's a lot of functionality that cuts down the use of my phone time. IMO, this is a "tool watch" of the 21st century, e.g., health monitoring, multiple time zone tracking, notifications, smart home control, fitness, contactless payments and it tells the time. It's not as tough as G-Shock, but IMO it's a lot more versatile.

Smartwatches may not be for everyone, but they do serve a purpose for a number of people.

Don't be hating, but my Apple AD brought this out from the back after I purchased an iPhone 11 Pro Max. I couldn't believe my good fortune.

Yes aluminum is the better choice for AW since you’ll want to ditch them in 2 years for the next gen

When you get the Apps on it thatyou like, you’ll likely see the benefits.

I think only the Stainless Steel and above come with the Sapphire glass front crystal? The cheaper aluminum has this "gorilla glass" front crystal?

I could be wrong ... but I think that's how it works with how much more expensive the stainless steel version is.
