AP price increase in Jan 2020

Just received a call from boutique that my allocated 15500 will increase in price by sgd 1600 (usd 1100k). Was asked to go down to boutique and also will give me ‘something nice’ in return.

Anyone got the same news?

Is this worldwide or a currency adjustment?

Not too happy to hear that since I am also interested in getting a 15500 from the boutique.

On the other hand, the price increase may also boost the value retention on my existing 15400.. hmm...

SGD didn't fluctuate a lot against USD or CHF throughout this year.. so it may be worldwide price increase

So possibly worldwide? Hmmm.

Why were the fellow members asked to visit the boutique? Sign a document to lock you in at the current price? Or to acknowledge that you may need to pay more?

Interesting, wasn’t expecting to hear that, perhaps it won’t be worldwide but I’m sure it is.

Prices last year were already renewed to $19.2k USD for 15500 from 17.x for the outgoing 15400. Odd if they raise it globally in just 1 year.

Well, the UK retail price on the 15500 is £18700 GBP (approx $24600 USD @ current fx rate)

Take the VAT off and you’re at
$20,500 for a comparative rate.

Retail in Australia is closer to $18k USD (inc 10% GST that tourists can claim), no wonder we never have any stock!

Well, that and the nearest boutique is a seven hour flight away

Same here fellow Singaporean. Should be heading down this week to sign it. So what "something nice" did you manage to snag?

The price increase came at a very unexpected time. Might be holding onto my 15400 a little longer then LOL

Hello fellow Singaporean. In the end just a teddy bear for my daughter. Was hoping for some Christmas gifts from AP, but got nothing and we didn’t want to ask..

At least you got a teddy bear. All i got was a "thank you" haha.

Building a history with AP is frustrating indeed.

Any additional news on this globally? Singapore seems to be the only country where it is already in affect.

Seems like the hike matches HK's pricing now.

SGD 25234 before hike
SGD 26729 after hike equivalent to USD 19725 at today's rate

Hong Kong pricing currently at HK$151000, equivalent to USD 19388

Japan pricing currently at JPY 2000000, equivalent to USD 18252

Values at MSRP vat excl.

Haven't heard anything about an increase in the US. Hopefully that stands.

Worth noting that some prices in other parts of the watch industry have decreased in 2019... specifically, Jaeger-LeCoultre.

My US AD told me today that several pieces (mostly ROs and ROCs) are increasing on January 1. One data point I remember is the 15450 steel is going from $16,500 to $19,300. This one was the biggest increase. I want to say the 15500 was closer to an increase of $1,500 and the 41mm ROC in steel around $2,000 more.

He showed me the full list from AP but I don’t remember any others specifically. It didn’t look like ROOs we’re going up much if at all.

Thanks for the headsup! I was already planning to sneak into the JLC Boutique during my trip to Vegas next month while performing my official duties as "shopping bag holder and credit card swiper", but now I may want to call ahead and make an appointment...

Any idea how significant the reductions are?
