Incoming Watches: Captain Willard and the Great White

I got the text from my AD yesterday that my SLA033, Captain Willard had arrived. I went to the store immediately and picked up the SLA033. I am impressed with the build quality and the overall wear of the watch. I have a moderately large wrist at 7.5-7.75, depending on the weather, and it fits great. While there I noticed that the AD had a Great White Turtle in the case. I had looked at the watch before but the example the AD had was sold. The AD had received three last week and this one was the only one that had not sold. Now it has. A very nice watch and one I will enjoy. Waiting on the Arnie now and I am going to look at the new LX line-up when it arrives.

Congrats William. I really like that watch. Can’t wait to see one. I am looking forward to your impressions of this watch. Looks great. I have been wearing my 777 quite a bit lately.

Very nice! My AD called and wanted me to put money down but I'd really like to see it first. I don't think there's much interest in the Seiko LEs in my area, as the SLA025 is still sitting in their display, so I may have some time to decide still.

I have a 6105-8119 that was my dads, so even if I don't pick it up, I'm OK. Was thinking I would get it so I'm not wearing the vintage on a regular basis, since it has such sentimental value.

I wouldn't worry about a sell out too much. My wife bought a GS, 500 produced, several years later still new in the box.

Only 5 stores in the U.S. are getting the LX. Seiko as of last week didn't know which stores were getting them. I assume 2 of the 5 will be the Miami and NY botiques. That's according to the Seiko regional manager of my area.

Yeah, I'm not sweating it. Even if they do, the SLA017 and SLA025 have both remained fairly static in the secondary.

I'm definitely picking up one of the new Pepsi Arnie's though... Can't wait for those!

The Willard looks really nice. I didn't realize they are releasing the Arnie. I may have to hit the gym again for that monster.
