Comical AD Chat

I just got off the phone with my AD and during our conversation he indicated that he would easily guess half or more of the people he sells a Rolex to don't bother to set the time, ever. Go figure.

Based on what I see in this forum, that’s probably pretty accurate. Most look like safe queens.

I see another Rolex purchase requirement coming.

Stickers removed
Bracelet sized
Warrant card filled out completely
Watch set to current local time

Another thing for grey's and flippers to brag about. "Watch has never been set."

This is kinda funny because if i didn't bother to check my wifes watch every few days she would walk around with the wrong time and date and not notice it. Her mother also wears a rolex and the time and date is never right on that thing, it dives me crazy everytime i see it.

I read with horror a TRF member posting that he never set the date...Not setting the time is unforgivable.

I totally agree! many wear watches as an accessory, after all no watch could tell time better than a cell phone for most!

Maybe those who don't set the time are the same ones that don't care about accuracy??

I read an article recently that talked about how there are many broken mechanical watches being worn by people all over the place. Not only are people not setting the time, people don't even care if the watches run. So I believe him...

Doesn’t surprise me, as most see them as a status symbol, maybe 10% could name the movement inside.
