Incoming- 1974 Moonwatch

I picked this up today from a friend, for a song, and promise not to sell it right away...

It's a 1974 moonwatch in great condition...I think it's a great addition to my all Rolex collection. I am wearing it today in the sun, and I just love the dial...

Totally lovely, the speedy pro dials has the most readable dial of any chronograph. Period.

I just would like the watch to tell the date. I do not like watches that are designed without a date display.

Question - do the designers not think that a date is necessary??

date issue...

Good point, must have a date to be a real watch, though with the chrono function they probably figured the dial was good as is..

The funny thing about this watch is that it's a bit too large for me, and I will probably trade it in for a vintage submariner, which is what I really long to own.

A Tourneau store offered me three times what I paid for it on a trade in for a beautiful white sub...Also, I am looking at a pristine RedSub on Friday that a friend owns..... Yes, I am an a 1680 hunt these days... Sorry Omega, it will certainly make someone else happy...

Beautiful! It does look a bit big on your wrist. Is that photo distortion, or do you have skinny wrists?

It's a great watch, but I agree that it's too large on my wrist. I am getting ready to trade up to a sub 1680, so I have a really good offer for a trade up, and I just listed it for sale....

This watch went to another collector who appreciates the cal.861 manual wind movement, and the larger size... I am now officially a flipper- I made my first TRF sale, and donated a little money to the website, all is good without this watch..., Time to close out the thread, . And time for me to get moving on a 1680 submariner...
