Was there ever a green GMT Insert (1675 era)?
Have seen a few recently pop up from dealers on Insta. Suspect at best?

There is a theory on these (as with the Blueberry inserts, all red 24hr hands, and blue 24hr hands) that they were a run of prototypes made for Rolex by the same manufacturer as the "normal" inserts, but never put into official production. Hopefully Greekbum will chime in here.

They do exist where they originally came from is anyones guess. I have had a little over 20 of them that i acquired when i bought out a parts dealer many years ago. They are the same font as you see in early 16750's. Others have also found them as I have seen them throughout the years. In the early 2000s I bought out a Rolex watchmakers lot and there was lots of all blue a few all red and all browns all with dimple in the back. IMHO non of these every came on a Rolex from the factory nor were they military blueberry and all the other made up stories etc. My only conclusion is that the bezel manufactures themselves made them along with the normal ones we see either to show as samples of what they can do (prototype) or by error ,mistake etc. There has never been a part number associated with any of these odd colored inserts that i know of.

Given this I find it shocking what the blueberry insert changes hands for.

Thank you.
Thanks so much for the great feedback and the validation of my doubts about the inserts. The elusive blueberry now has a hulk-ish (or avocado?) cousin.

The backside on that greenie appears to be for a sapphire model.. The only ones that I have seen are for the plastic crystal models 1675/16750.
