Submariner 16800 bezel thinner than others?

Is it just me or are the bezels on the 16800 thinner than other references? At first I just figured these to be polished/worn out examples, but as I look at more examples I'm noticing they are consistently thin. Even unpolished ones seem to have thin bezels. And by "thin bezels" I'm referring to the teeth or scalloped part of the bezel.

The fluted part of the bezel on the 16800 is narrower than that on the previous sub models (1680, 5513, 5512, etc) It is the same however as the 16610 and five digit GMT models.
