Vintage Datejust vs Air King

Hi, all. I'm considering getting either a vintage Datejust or vintage Air King (or Oyster Date or Oyster Perpetual). Anything with a pre-modern supercase, so could be in earlier 2000's, or as far back as 60s. I'm really curious about how a 36mm Datejust case compares to a 34mm case. Does anyone have both and can post pics? Thanks!

Here's a 34mm Tudor next to a 36mm Datejust.

I like both but I would go with the DJ on this one.

Thanks! Both look wonderful, and very difficult to even tell the difference between 34mm and 36mm from a size perspective. I've actually been thinking of going Tudor for a vintage piece - might save me some money. I have my modern 36mm Datejust - now just need to decide on the vintage.

vintage tudor is definitely a nice place to start, snagged one on another forum awhile back and it runs like a charm. that 34mm is a sweet classy spot

I have small wrists and did not love the 34mm size, just quite small.

Photos really won't help, you need to try them both on your wrist. Go to a retail store.

I’ve had both models in vintage references. The AK is pretty small at 34mm and smooth bezel. A fluted DJ in 4-digit or 5-digit reference will look much better IMHO.

I don’t have a side-by-side but this gives you an idea of what is possible with a DJ.
