16610LV Kermit...seek advise

Hi, found an unpolished 16610LV with rehaut in excellent condition, the only thing missing is the box and paper. Selling at $12k. While another with paper is selling at $14k with paper. Which one should I choose? Please help!

I’m a silly need box and papers guy. But I will admit. It seems dumb to pay 2k for it. But sadly I would.

For that particular reference I’d say complete set. You’ll thank yourself 10 years down the line.

Never buy a Kermit without paper. Many, many are Franken.
I would pay 2k more without hesitation.

Going by today’s U.K. market, $14k isn’t bad for a full set. I’d do that personally.

Struggling with paper and without paper at all time. Is it that significant?

If you're not sure - you certainly don't need the papers. Buy the one you like the most.

It is sad, but so would I...

What’s bad is 12-14k for a Kermit sounds good these days.

If it’s been modified (someone put a green bezel on it) and it goes back to Rolex for service, you’ll get a black bezel put back on it and lose the green one as it was never an LV. The papers will indicate if it is in fact an LV.

On the Kermit, that’s why the papers mean so much.

Under such circumstance, what should we do to proof that it was in fact 16610LV instead LN?

The paperwork will list it as an LV.

Box and Papers for peace in mind. I would fork out the extra 2k in a heartbeat.

You’d also need a new dial and hands or it would be easy to tell that the green bezel isn’t original.
