No issues with PM but you must buy right or the sell/flip will result in a significant loss. I have both PM and SS in my collection and have a place and a time to wear each.

I buy watches to wear and keep. PM wears the best imho. Resale value does not concern me in the least.
Ever bought a new car in comparison ?

Buy Gray new or slightly used PM if you are going to keep it. Let most/all of the depreciation occur before you buy it. Enjoy it every day. Don't worry about "market value."

FWIW, I bought a slightly used pt. Daytona almost a year ago. I don't know if I could sell it for what I bought it for, but I don't care either way. It makes me smile every time I put it on, which is first thing every morning. I doubt I will grow tired of it or take it for granted anytime soon.

If you know what you want, and don't flip watches, buying your ultimate watch in PM can be a great idea. You will never see another one and lust after it and think, "maybe I should have paid up for the YG/WG/PT version." But if you fall in and out of love with watches in weeks or months, it can be an expensive proposition.

If you are going to buy PM, AND keep it to wear for the rest of your life buy new from a trusted seller here. Chances are you will get 25% discount and the watch will be stickered, unworn and never sized. If you have intentions of flipping it, better to just be a nice one pre-owned for the cheapest price possible. Although I can't understand the desire to flip a PM watch, find the one that sings to you and keep it. Pass it down to the kids.
