Finally have my first!!

After much consideration and amateur sleuthing, I am now officially a member of the club.

The attached pic doesn't really do this masterpiece justice but I will attempt to get some better snaps in the forseeable future. I look forward to showing it in person to the other Melbourne members of this excellent forum.

Many thanks to all who generously offered their wise advice.

Regards,
Pete.

PS. How long does it normally take to stop staring at one's new Rolex????

In answer to your question, Pete:

NEVER

Now we're going to have to meet up for lunch so you can show off that beaut in the flesh! I did try SMSing you last week - did the message get through?

Thanks Chaps!

Gedanken:
I've been OS until today and missed out on your SMS until today. I'm certainly keen to catch up though as we previously discussed.

Padi:
A piece of string can be very long!! And why is a duck?

Does that have anything to do with how much wood a woodchuck can chuck?

That's a very nice looking DJ there, enjoy it

Classic!! I am a bit biased but TT DJs on Jubilee is Rolex. It is the one that is copied, sold and desired the most and even though on the boards you will hear about Sub this and GMT that, no other watch is as popular around the world than the TT DJ (go to places in asia and you will see 100s of variations of the TT DJ in stock and on display in most stores). We WIS make up a EXTREMELY small percentage of Rolex buyers so we sometimes forget that the numbers we hear (guessed) on message forums account for very little of Rolex's sales.

With that being said, I have a feeling your next one will be a sport model in SS

Congrats! Nice looking watch and definitely good for dressy occassions!

The DateJust or Daydate is certainly something missing in my collection... need to save more $$. My parents have DJ both SS and TT, and they bought it back in the 70s, and it still look brand new after a recent service with RSC in Toronto.

Congrats Pete. If we could figure out a way to bottle the way you feel now, and sell it on the open market, we would all be rich!

Great feeling, aint it

Grats Pete! A datejust is a fine model in my opinion. Most here tend to favor the sub, but the DJ is my fav. Wear it in good health!

Congrats! The journey has just begun.

How long before you stop staring at the watch, never.

But the thing that will really confuse the heck out of you is when you start to wonder "how can it get better looking every time I look at it?"

Wow, appears we're all a little bit obsessed!! And I thought it was just me! Absolutely thrilled to hear that the feeling lasts a while.

Many thanks for all the good wishes folks. Certainly the best forum on the net.

Regards,
Pete.

Sorry it took so long for me to long on to this thread, but I'm glad I did.

Congratulations on a beautiful watch, Pete. The TT DJ is a stunning piece. Wear it in good health and enjoy it.

Oh, and don't worry, the constant smile on your face is a natural consequence of wearing that beauty.
