This thread was a bit of a stumble. Itís pure speculation with zero historical basis. What is happening today is unprecedented. Also, some of the models you listed were not held back by Rolex before. There are 2 SS GMTs now. They will not sell under MSRP unless we have an economic scenario like 2008 which wasnít seen for 80 years. Yes there are waves and ups and downs but depression level numbers are once every 80-100 years. Sorry but I think many of us missed the boat on this one. I look back st real estate I wish I had enough cash to buy.

1) first ever bi colored ceramic bezel gmt. Itís the watch that invented this.
2) last ever (with the ln) oyster bracelet gmt
3) first ever iteration of the Batman reference
4) 5-6 year production only (discontinued)
5) current Batman identical to untrained eye except for bracelet so thereís not really an upside to getting the 126710blnr over the 116710 (ie ceramic bezel over metal).
6) iconic modern reference

Need I saw more? Thereís plenty of firsts and even a last. How many references can you say that about especially with a short production.

No more needs to be said!

The Explorer II was the dog of the pro line. Thatís why. Daytona, GMT and Sub are simply in a different league. These are the 3 most popular Rolex for collectors. And bi-color GMTs will always do better than espresso LNs.

If i had to guess
The price will taper down to near msrp, then rise to current levels when it get discontinued.. then taper down again to more realistic prices when the new batman is announced

I got 14.5k for mine, and it was pretty well worn and marked up.. Iíd make moves now if youíre considering selling. Momentum is definitely picking up with the 126710BLNR. I donít think the original is going to go much higher unless itís unworn or new

From a technical standpoint, parabolic moves are never sustainable. They're always followed by a pullback, sometimes a crash. It has been observed countless times for all kinds of investments.

It can go either way for me. I have a brand new stickered 116710, if it goes up, happy days, if it drops I can peel off the stickers and wear it as intended, still happy days.

Who knows but they will peak where the price makes no sense. Where that is depends on supply and demand but also what else is out there for the same price.
