1970 Rolex 6466 Oysterdate
G'day all,
Picked up my first actual Rolex - 6466 Oysterdate. 238XXXX serial number makes it a 1970 vintage. In pretty good nick all things considered, on a nice 7835 bracelet. A lot smaller than I imagined, considering it's only 3mm smaller than the 33mm case Tudors I have but don't mind it so much - it's very light on the wrist. Will see if it grows on me - worst case it will be a present to the better half. Cheers, Dean. |

All looks good and orig. dial etc with a prob.dealer matched 7835/19 1971 bracelet - it's the thin bezel version btw that actually wears a smidge bigger than a thick bezel !
Enjoy !

It's a beauty.
I can pull off 34 mm, but not 30 mm. You're doing well if you can rock that! |

It's a bit smaller than I'm used to (34mm was my smallest before), but not tragic- still umming and ahhing whether or not I give it to the missus as a present

Looks fantastic in photos but would be too small on my wrist. I inherited a 32mm Bulova from a great uncle and put it in sometimes but even that is just too small. Trends come and go through and the jumbo watch fad is waning. May not wane THAT much though.

Never seen the smaller versions of the 6694 so thanks for sharing. Can easily mistake it for the larger brother.
Looks in good nick - wear it well or hope the missus will (thought not sure how many people enjoy manually winding up a watch these days!) |

Thanks. Re: winding- I actually don't mind it. The first watch I ever had was gifted to me from my grandfather and was a manual wind (no idea what it was, and its long-gone now unfortunately), so I guess it's how I started. It's always seemed old-school to me, which fits with the vintage watches I'm now chasing I guess
