Tudor lady sub service issue
I dropped off the watch mentioned in the title (96090) for a service at my local AD, who suggests that they sent it to the RSC in New York. It was returned to the AD with the news that it couldn’t be serviced because it didn’t have a Tudor movement. The watch is from approximately 1997 so it definitely does not have a Tudor movement, but never had any issues getting other older Tudor watches with ETA movements serviced at RSCs (Dallas and Beverly Hills). Has anyone encountered this situation?

I had a mid-1990s Tudor Mini-Sub with ETA serviced at the HK RSC a few years ago. I wouldn't think it would be an issue for any RSC as long as it's original to the watch.

I've had my 75090 serviced at the Dallas RSC. I'm confused on this.

It sounds like they may be saying that the movement was replaced by a generic ETA.

It was a high school graduation gift to my sister in 1997, which she wore for about 10 years, then stored in a drawer. I’m sure it’s never been serviced or even opened. I’ll call the Dallas service center and see what they say. Probably would have been better off just sending it in directly myself rather than including the AD. I had a Tudor sub serviced at the Beverly Hills service center in 2019 and they didn’t hesitate for a second.

It's always best to deal directly with the RSC, IMO. Most of the bad outcomes I've seen have occurred due to poor communication via an AD.

just had my mid size 75090 serviced on the local high street - cost £250. No need to go to an AD.

Yeah, I’d just go to an experienced watchmaker for it. It’s a $300 overhaul with gaskets and a tube.
