you will not lose a lot of money. but if you are concern about it, then i suggest you not to buy it at the moment.

Being able to buy something and is not the same as being able to afford something.

Better off not thinking of watches in this way...

Very true.

On top of that. While it's unlikely that the second hand value of a sub will lose 20% compared to MSRP, that's only true if you keep your watch in like new/excellent condition. If you wear it, it will accumulate scratches. You may also get some serious dents here and there from minor accident that's out of your control.

If you are not in a comfortable financial position to buy it, and have to constantly think about the second hand value of the watch, don't buy it.

You have answered your own question. If there is a doubt there is no doubt.

What I have learned after 63 years is that there is always some material thing I want. Watch, car, bike. Always something I fancy. You don't really need this watch. You need to decide what is important to you. However if this watch will make you happy, if you're willing to make other sacrifices to get it, fill your boots. But I think it's a no, otherwise you wouldn't have asked a bunch of strangers the question.

Good luck to you whatever you decide.

You will loose money if you have to sell a worn Sub.

At some point, it is just too much work to mock outrage every time someone mentions price.

That did not even occur to me, until I read your response. Also, the OP has not responded, since he started the thread, and his first and only post. I think you nailed it!

If it is not financially comfortable, it sucks the fun out of it...

Wait for the right time, so that you can truly enjoy that purchase and never worry about having to sell it.

I think you should pass, especially if you have a wife and kids.

Others have already said this, but if money is a factor, then forget about it.

This. This sounds too close for comfort to me.

No, dont do it.

Sub date could always be purchased later.

If you want the watch buy it. If your worried about "short term gains" and/or thinking you want to flip it...don't buy it.

Agree, I would hate to have this tangle object as the source of finical discomfort looking me in the face everyday.

Buy it and flip it if you can make a profit, or hold then flip when the market is high.
