Omas Arco impressions/writing samples

Hey all,

I've been living with Omas for a couple of weeks now and thought it was time to get some writing samples up along my impressions of the pen. You can see pics of the pen here:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=123304

The paper I'm writing on isn't ideal, just a white legal pad, but I'll be acquring something more suitable in the near future.

John, I think many of us(me included)need to slow down and practice cursive before it will look decent. I have started but it's hard to get the mind to think cursive and not printed.....

I agree, Leo. I've been using it a lot lately and I have my moments. Mostly, though, it's been hit and miss. Cursive just lends itself so well to FP's.

Nothing wrong with that hand writing John, I am glad that the pen has now become smoother, love the colour of that ink, thank you very much for the review.

John, what a wonderful review!
I am so glad the nib smoothed out a bit, it is nice to have a nib that gives feedback..Just not too much!

As to your handwriting, you do yourself a disservice sir! It is a really classic style, looks lovely and is very easy to read..Perfect

Now on to something vintage??

Ian, thanks for your kind words, you are a true gentleman.

As for vintage, I may go that direction next. I really have a hankering now for a Parker 51, and I'm just starting to delve into the 51 website. Lots of info there! I want to make sure I get one in the kind of condition like yours and Phillip's, and I don't have any experience with vintage pens.

Of course, I have my eye on a few newer pens as well, maybe a MB 146 or 149 (or both ), a Pilot 823 a Pelikan of some sort and of course a Nakaya. So I'm not sure right now. I'll probably enjoy the two I have for a bit then reassess.

So many pens, so little time!

Thanks, Kai! I have a Clairfontaine notebook on the way from a TRF member, and I'll post a thread when I get it. I'm looking forward to using some quality paper for a change.

You guys have me sold on Clairfontaine notebooks so I will have order one from online since I do not know of a place in Chicago to buy one(I just hate to have to pay for shipping and handling on one notebook)... If anyone knows of a source here in the Chicagoland area let me know???

Leo. I am really getting worried about the lack of all things pen in Chicagoland..What gives with the windy city
At least you have one of the finest pen shows around. I bet you can get it at that..As well as one or twenty nice vintage pens!!!
