5172G - views and pics
Does anyone on here have the 5172G - would be curious to know how owners find the size of the dial?
it looks like PP are controlling the supply of this ref better than with the various interactions of the 5170 - albeit noting it is the first iteration in the series. any input appreciated - thanks |

Seems like PP are holding back this ref, never saw it at any AD

Tried this at AD. My wrist is 6.4 and I think this is about close to maximum of what my wrist can wear. I love that blue dial and the stepped lugs.
This watch should be obtainable with a short wait. The supply crunch was probably due to the factory closure a few months back. IMG_19092020_093643_(800_x_1080_pixel).jpg |

I purchased the 5172 last week. When the AD said they had one in I was hesitant to try it given the larger diameter, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the watch sat extremely well on my relatively small wrist.
Indeed, I have not heard of many ADs receiving them yet. It could be due to the factory shutdown as Ichiran noted, or Patek is controlling supply better with this reference due to the oversupply of the 5170. I believe it is the latter because this was released in 2019, and with lead times Patek would have started production well before the shutdown due to the pandemic. Overall, I love the steeped lugs and casualness. The blue dial plays well depending on the lighting. |

It’s an unbelievable piece. I’ve owned many PP and this one hits all the right notes for me. Couple of friends have been on the hunt for several months and they’ve come empty handed. Hopefully more will begin to pop up soon. Enjoy the pics.

I think 5172G is one of the best modern dress Pateks in recent years.
However, if you like the classic design language, for example, 5170 etc. You probably gonna like the 5172g much less. |
