Cool shot, the difference is striking. Most watch size comparisons I can hardly see the difference, I have a terrible eye for detail. But this shot looks photo shopped.

I've never thought of it in those terms but it leaves the question. What of the DJ in all of it's diverse iterations? In essence, a Rolex is just a well built watch on a lot of levels and it's not defined by a single genera, even if their most significant technological achievements have been centered around aquatic activities. |

Some try to say in this forum that you have 3 sizes options in the diver line, a Sub 40mm, SD43 43MM and a DSSD 44mm. Just like a DJ 28, 31, 36, 41mm. And is not the case, you have 3 different divers with 3 different features and capabilities, if you get a DSSD you so not have a bigger submariner, you have a DSSD, you have different clasp, case, features . You cann't do saturation diving with a Sub, and you cann't go 3900 with a SD43. Are not the same watch. The DJ is the same all across his different sizes and colors options Enviado desde mi SM-G975F mediante Tapatalk |

You could easily say the DateJust, DayDate and SkyDweller are the Sub, SeaDweller and Deep Sea Sea Dweller. Also the Explorer II is a GMT, as is the SkyDweller and the Cellini has GMT variants so you may need to rethink your statement. |

The explorer was created to be used inside caves, and its second orange hand is to indicate whether it is day or night, since inside you can lose that idea (am / pm) and some used as GMT but it is not its purpose . The sky dweller is an annual calendar watch with GMT function, the most complex Rolex watch. Are the Explorer, GMT and SKYD the same watch with more features in crescendo like divers? Is your opinion and is ok. For me, may be only for me, Rolex is an OCEANIC watch because the oyster made famous the brand and for that Rolex offers 3 different divers for 3 scale (scuba, saturation and for crazyness). I have 7.75inch wrists and tied a JC on (really wanted one)and removed it within 5 seconds and knew I would hate it. It’s gigantic and top heavy. Beautiful to look at though, just not in my wrist. I daily wear a sub btw.
Be sure and try before you buy is the best advice IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You need to wear it to actually see if it works for you. I wouldn't buy it as a first rolex but I'd keep it in a collection for daily beater.

James Cameron Thickness
Here are some pics on my 7.5” wrist. Absolutely love my JC ... best pound for pound Rolex ever made. With your wrists, I say go for it! You’ll never look back. Only problem is it will ruin your other watches ...

I know someone who wears his JC with a suit daily. Says it fits just fine under the cuff.

I wear my DSSD daily and I sleep with it on. Suit, jeans and a t-shirt… doesn’t matter. I wear it snug on my wrist and it’s extremely comfortable. I’m not a huge guy but not scrawny either. 5’10 around 205lbs. My wrist is 7.25” and relatively flat on top. The DSSD settles in nicely on top of my flat wrist. This was my first Rolex and I feel it fits my personal style quite well. To each his own though.
