I would not add money to trade a 116500 for a 15400, not in a million years...

Actually, i wouldn't even trade a 116500 for a 15400 + 2k.

Trade a 15400 blue for a 116500 white?

Ok, but you are clearly biased against the 15400. The market supports money back for me on this trade.

If you don’t like the 15400 it is irrelevant what you would or would not accept in this trade, because you are unlikely to ever pursue this swap.

Once the 15400 gains some more value thanks to the 15500, I would trade it towards a blue 15450, add cash and also buy the Daytona.

I am very familiar with the 15450 and the
extreme tapering of the bracelet is a deal breaker for me.

I hope you're right about the new 15500 raising value of 15400. I def prefer the 400 over the 500 due to the thinner case.

Bumping because I am still pondering this trade (my 15400 blue for a preowned 116500 white). 15400 prices seem to keep climbing though. I just rarely wear the 15400 and I really want a Daytona in my collection. Just thinking out loud still...

I wouldn't do it, personally. But if you're not wearing the RO and don't feel attached to it in any way, it does make sense to trade it for the Daytona if it speaks to you and you're confident it'll get ample wrist time.

If it was a 15202, no... 15400, in a heartbeat.

I’d do it and think you should expect money back for sure.

If the Daytona sings to you and the RO gets no wristtime, then you should go with the Daytona. Personally, I think the two watches are not in the same class- The RO is on another level.

This my new philosophy as well. And it sucks but I can only wear one at a time...

I would sell the AP and wait for the right opportunity buy the Daytona. 20k is a lot of premium.

Like the above poster said, take advantage of selling your 15400 at a premium now. We are probably at the top of the market. Invest the proceeds from the sale into a conservative bond portfolio for some appreciation, then buy the Daytona when hype subsides.

If your not going to wear it you should trade it, but strike a hard bargain.

To me it’s a no brainer. Do it without hesitation. I sold my 15400 because I just didn’t bond with it. I bought a blue dial DJ 41 shortly after because I was lusting after it. Still loving the DJ and have not missed the AP at all. My point is get what you want and don’t look back.

Hell no! You have a boutique addition discontinued AP RO! You will regret that move. Put your name on a list and wait it out.

good point and I love your passion for the piece!
The list is worthless for me though. I have no cred with an AD so I won't get that call until there's a 7 digit Daytona out...

I hate to say this as I’m not an advocate for buying to flip for profit, but put your name on a list for the new BLNR and flip it and use the funds to get a grey DayC and cut your losses. Many ways to skin a cat mate

Tough call, I love both. I would agree in todays market you should get money back with the Daytona for your 15400.

In your situation, it sounds like you'd wear the Daytona more, so may as well do it.

I'm in a similar boat, where i want a white Daytona, but don't want to part with my black 15400. I'm just going with the "sit on the waitlist forever" approach, to hopefully get a Daytona at retail at some point. I'm hoping to have the patience to continue to wait....
