Can I pull off a 44mm and some other recommendations
Hi there everyone, I just bought the Grey Ghost 3 months ago, got the first piece from the Geneva boutique. I have been in love with the AP ROO line since its sportier for me and I’m still young. I am thinking about my next purchase and I want some advice on whether I could pull off a 44mm or should I stick to the 42mm line or even get something smaller. Thanks everyone! Nice meeting each and everyone of you. I have been reading this forum a lot since I was considering the Grey Ghost!

are you based in Jakarta bro? if you feel like the 42mm fit nicely on your hands already I would go for the new ROO titanium with the new pushers, its really cool and slim, unique watch.

Sorry for the late pictures! I just knew I had to post 10 posts before being able to attach some pictures, but here are some wrist shots!

Just my .02 but that 42 is already too big. 44 will look enormous.

Yes I am! That’s true but I think it is too similar to my current ROO, also it has the older movement and I might want to wait until the next update! Thanks for the input though! We should arrange a Jakarta meetup sometime! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks like your wrist maybe too small for a 44mm.
If you are not in a rush to buy..why not wait for the new CODE11:59 chronograph Not joking here..I strongly feel that an actual piece will look Amazing.. With that lovely case design. Sent from my HUAWEI NXT-L29 using Tapatalk |

You got skinny wrist and arm like me. I’ve tried on 41mm RO and felt that was too big for me as well. Wait for the new 38mm RO |

Really? I do think the ROO is designed to look big, I would definitely take a look at the 38mm RO, but I am actually quite big, 5’10 and 170 pounds 177cm and 77 kg! That is pretty big for an Asian guy lol Thanks a lot for your inputs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

42 looks ok - but agree with the above, 44mm would be much too big.
Jumbo would be a great option, or indeed the new 15500 - that would look top notch on rubber I think and *should* wear smaller than the 15400

I have a 7" wrist and only have one Offshore left. I have recently considered selling it since I now am starting to feel that anything over 40mm is too large for me, no lug overhang and clearly my wrist is larger than yours. 44 would be enormous on you, I think that 42 is too big on you already. But thats my taste, not yours, which is all that matters!

Probably too big, best to try one on and take a mirror shot.

42 mm is too big (just look at where the watch ends - out in the open air, not on your wrist. 41 mm RO will also be too big, 44 mm ROO would be a joke on your wrist. Find a 39 mm RO, that would fit well.

That 42 looks huge on your wrist. I think the new 38mm chrono would fit much better

It is too big. Usually you won’t want a little bit of bracelet to show on both sides of the case and not have the case take up your entire wrist or more. There’s not much we can really do. Some are born with huge wrists and others aren’t. This is why they always make different sizes. AP’s sizes wear much larger than Rolex. Even their 42mm SkyDweller would look better on your wrist. This is due to how long the Royal Oak case is and because of the integrated bracelet.
In all honesty the best Royal Oak size for your wrist would be 39mm. A 15202st or a 15300st and the 39mm chronos would be just perfect. Even the 41mm Royal Oaks wear big. Obviously less so than 42mm and 44mm ones.

Firstly, pictures often misrepresent the reality of how a watch wears on you, so bear that in mind when listening to comments about a 42mm on your wrist. It is also the case that (a) a Diver is supposed to wear large, and (b) oversized watches are the trend, but collectors don’t necessarily go with trends so this forum can be biased.
I have a small wrist, about 6.5” and I love the Royal Oak Diver, so much so that I had to have one! I still have it because it is amazing, but it rarely gets worn as it does wear a little big on me. I can however get away with it when wearing long sleeves that show the watch but not the rubbish wrist and forearm that goes with it!! If you want people to see how a watch really wears on you, use a mirror for the shot; attached is an example of the watch looking massive on me when taking a picture direct, and one with it looking more sensibly sized when using a mirror. It’s still a little big on me for my taste but if I was 20 years younger I’d be cool with it! For a smaller wrist size, forget the 41mm Royal Oak, it wears bigger in my view than the 42mm Diver, as ridiculous as that seems! But that’s what I found. The 39mm is overpriced, although it’s ‘the’ classic, but personally I don’t love it enough to pay the extra cash. But...whilst it sucks having to rule out some watches because life dealt is a rough deal with our small wrists, there are some upsides every now and then! And one of them is the 15450 - excellent value and wears much bigger than a 37mm watch should! It wears the same as my Daytona. Some pictures of me wearing my two below. Hope this helps, I’ve been on the same journey you’re going on! And lastly a shot I stumbled across of my Sea Dweller when searching for these pictures for you, I love this shot so much that I couldn’t resist posting it, despite it being irrelevant!!
