Help! GMT LN vs BLNR

Give me some feedback guys! GMT LN at MSRP unworn versus a BLNR at 11.5k used. I love both styles but I like to be somewhat unique. Spending 11.5k seems foolish at best to me.

I’d go for the LN. Which one do YOU want? You’ll be paying about $2,000 extra for less than 1 square cm of blue cerachrom and some blue ink on the dial. There will be differing opinions here. Many people have paid the premium and I don’t think they’re foolish- they are going with what they want, at a price the market is willing to pay.

Buy for you, not for the rest of us.

Although I like both, I prefer the LN regardless of price. But this is obviously something you have to decide. If you feel that you're "settling" for the LN and really want the BLNR, you shouldn't settle.

I have the LN and loves it. I find that the blue is not quite to my liking. Also, I prefer to buy new than used. But it's a matter of personal choice.

MSRP out of principal then trade if you still want the BLNR and can get it at MSRP

It depends what you want. Personally, I would buy BLNR. Yes I know I would pay extra for just a little blue but that's why this watch is so different from the others. If I wanted LN I would just buy a sub, however not everyone has BLNR and that's why it makes it so unique to me.

Which one would make you feel more unique?
I'm not sure either would have that effect on me.
I prefer the BLNR for what that's worth.

I now see why so many of you end up with multiple watches. This is such a slippery slope. The Sub LB has a crazy good price on it right now as well but at 35 years old I feel like it might be too flashy. All this research is starting to make me wonder which one I truly like best and for what reasons.

You've answered your own question. In your case, principle outweighs desire. Get the LN.

If you don’t mind paying the premium, get the BLNR.

Hard choice really, if a GMT complication is what you want or need. In saying that though, you seem to have answered your own question.

I have a BLNR and love it. If I had to dump all my Rolex but one, I would keep the BLNR over my SubC, DaytonaC, and Explorer. I for the life of me don't get paying a "premium" on a relatively new piece, especially on a model that is still in production. Vintage I get, but not new pieces. With the added "premium" some of these watches are asking, there are other watches that can be had that I would be eyeing.

Blnr. Me personally the blue just pops so
Much more than the all black. It really makes them look like 2 totally different watches. Blnr may not be new but it should
Still have a decent warrant left which you probably will
Never use anyways. But it is a great feeling to buy new and get a warranty card with your name.

My advice is to put price out of the equation. Choose the watch you really want and then decide if you can afford it. If not, save more till you can.

You will always covet the one you really want

Which watch do you want more? Jewelry is not a rational purchase.

Since you answered your own question, I think you have your answer.

Personally I prefer the LN. Placed an order/got on list this week in fact.

I like the blue but it stands out too much for me. That said, if you like to stand out, can afford the extra $2k and really want it get the BLNR.

If you want a pop of colour and to be a 2 watch guy... That's opening a can of worms! Older seadweller and pelagos blue for example? Sorry, I know I'm not helping!!

I think you'll eventually tire of the blue. The LN is timeless.

If the answer is the money you will have to pay for the BLNR then go for the LN. If you want the BLNR then pay and have the watch you want. I think paying over msrp is ok if you really want a watch. I have done it myself and have not regretted it. Many times we get confused about what we want as opposed to what we will pay. Watches are not an investment but it is nice to have a certain amount of liquidity should you want or need to move. Get the BLNR.

Too many go after what is perceived as "hot", and I used to do the same. Now, I wear what I like. For me, I always have a 116710LN in the stable, as I feel its the perfect watch for me, and luckily a bargain at today's market prices. Bottom line, buy what you like, not what folks on the innerweb say...

LN at MSRP...

Bloated BLNR prices are just ridonculous !!!!
I’ve had a BLNR but at a discount a couple of years ago.
As much as I would love a model I would not get it if it
doesn’t make sense ...

Like a BLRO SS $9250 msrp selling at $16/17 K + , really ?

Plenty of others with crazy disposable frivolous cash but that’s
not me ...

Help! GMT LN vs BLNR

It’s too expensive for a BLNR that’s been worn..if you can get it under 11k I’d say do it. You’ll spend the difference above MSRP traveling to the last of the ADs in the country that have it at retail. The LN is nice but the two tone bezel is signature GMT...I’d go BLNR between the two.

I’d be weary of believing it will be updated and suddenly attainable next year. In fact I highly doubt one or both.
