Lol! Imgook said it best in another thread, sarcastically of course, "I buy SS cause I can't afford TT".

Nothing about buying a Rolex is cheap, whether it's ss, TT or full precious metal.

I don't understand how some people are out of touch with reality sometimes.

Thanks everyone for their thoughts, and special thanks for the photos! It’s helpful to see how others have worn it. No doubt the TT blue sub is a beautiful watch. Planning to pull the trigger on a watch this week, so I will update once I’ve had the chance to try them on at the AD and we shall see what happens!

Update:

Went back to the AD and tried on both the blue TT sub and a TT DJ41 with champagne dial, and some other models. After seeing everyone’s photos on here of the blue sub in action, I was pretty sure that it was what I’d choose going in - it sure is a nice looking watch. But after trying the two, the datejust really resonated with me. Like I mentioned earlier, my father has the same one (the 36 version), which he got when reaching a life milestone many years ago, and he’s worn it every day since. Funny, I can’t find an old photo of him NOT wearing it. Now I’ve passed the same milestone so having the DJ on really felt more meaningful to me as well, sort of like a family tradition. Like my dad, I plan to wear it for a long, long time. I absolutely love it!

Good on you for following your heart. That is what makes a watch special to someone not because its the current hype of certain models.

That’s my favorite DJ and the most iconic (IMO). Fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet, and Champagne dial. Looks awesome on you.

I think the Blusey is the most beautiful TT watch currently in the range. Since I own one, I must declare a bias.

This week my AD offered me a TT Sky Dweller with a Champagne dial. Not a DJ but visually close to what you are considering. It really was beautiful and not as bling as I thought it would be, but the dial tipped it too far for me.

Whereas the Blusey doesn't look garish at all. It's obviously TT, and it glints and flashes as you would expect. But it doesn't shout. To my surprise, I've had no issues wearing it with business, smart casual or sloppy clothing.

But I would say that, wouldn't I?

Get what sings to you loudest. Wear it, love the hell out of it and don't give a damn what anybody else thinks.

Two tone watches do nothing for me, apart from this watch. Stops me in my tracks every time.

The same thing here. Full gold did nothing for me as well. That’s the reason, I sold it.

Before I bought my TT Root Beer, the watch I thought I was going to get was a DJII. I tried on both the black/gold and the Wimbledon. Honestly, maybe I was expecting too much from the pics I saw and the 41mm size (as I already had a GMT LN)....but I was really underwhelmed with the DJ and it wore much smaller
than even my GMT. Knew right away I didn’t want them. Ended up going with the Root Beer and love it. I just feel the Sport watches are better watches than the dress ones. They wear bigger and sit higher on the wrist. The DJ, dare I say, felt cheap.
