Full Stop.

This is a SUBMARINER. They are among the most ubiquitous Rolex references.

I applaud Rolex again.....turning the "mundane" into the extraordinary.

This is how it's done....talking to you Breitling!

It is funny! Spend 2K+ USD for plane fare, hotel, car etc. to buy a $8550USD SS mass produced timepiece.

YUP! Not to mention that when he gets there he finds it was just sold out from under him, as some AD's will do.

Well...in fairness I didn't already own a sub and I was trying to get my first time piece (and I wasn't old enough to have been around during the per-ceramic generation)...I could see how this would be tempting...

Alas, I suspect his inbox got flooded with requests and that's why it's full.

im not sure mundane is the right way to call them. I have owned many different refrences and by no means are they mundane. If they were the demand would not be so high...

I do get your point though

My inbox is empty. I called to confirm that they still have it and they do. Please PM me if you would like to purchase it. There is no way I am flying to Texas (or ever paying over MSRP to a local dealer) for a Submariner. For a Voutilainen, I would travel. But never for a Submariner. My apologies that many members' messages did not successfully reach me. I would like to help out a fellow thread participant and will share the details over PM.

Now? People will contemplate the outrageous to acquire one..

That is marketing at it's finest.
Exactly right!

Over the years, I have traveled great distances to spend weekends with different ladies.

For a watch, no way.

I realize this is old news-speculation.Guess I am envious. Can not get away with this business model in my line of work.
And I can not bring myself to paying overlist for a lower tier Rolex. The situation is BS.

Let's get this straight. I would never take a flight for a Submariner. Furthermore, I would never pay over MSRP for a Submariner.

That being said, since nobody has messaged me who's interested and willing to snag this one, and I want to see who *might* take a flight for a Submariner... dealer in Midland has a brand new 116610LN on the floor. First come, first served. They open first thing Monday morning. Let's see who travels the furthest to snag this Meanwhile, I'll sit in my comfy chair enjoying my DJ41 with the upgraded movement that's just as capable as the sub Maybe I'll pick one up in the next several years. Until then, I'm enjoying seeing to what lengths people would go to get one. 2K over MSRP? Give me a break.

Btw dealer doesn't ship so be prepared to pay an extra $604 tax. You can call ahead, send in a money order, then travel there to pick it up.

Better be someone from this forum who snags it.

Well if anyone is interested in a WG blue Sub 116619LB my AD in So Cal has one.

I guess this refutes the other thread where someone’s AD says it’s against Rolex policy to disclose what they have in stock over the phone.
