3285 stem removal

Hi all, quick question for the experts…….does the crown need to be in the time setting position to remove the stem on the 3285 or is it ok to release it in the winding position as per the 3135. Have a simple job to re attach hour hand which has come loose!……that’s a different story!

It doesn't need to be in time setting position.
