Wolf Watch Winder for 1601

Considering purchasing a watch winder for a vintage 1601. Anyone use a watch winder for their vintage watch? Any experience with Wolf Watch Winders? Thanks!

Wolf makes a good winder if that's what meets your needs.

You can get something equally effective (and equally useless) for about 10%-20% of the price. Wolf charges a fortune because somehow they have become a prestige brand, but ultimately they are the same crap as other winders. There was a thread on another forum where someone disassembled a Wolf winder that had stopped working, and you would have been shocked to see the poor quality of the materials, construction, and electronics.

If you really think a winder, then buy a cheap one that has the features you need, and just toss it and replace it in a few years when it dies.

I have a Wolf wood 3-watch winder I bought from another member here about 10 years or more ago, use it daily, and have encountered no issues. It has the bigger cushions for the modern sports size Rolexes. I know Wolf makes many versions and cannot speak to anything but this and a 2-watch Wolf winder with smaller cushions I bought from my Rolex AD 15 years ago and sold it to a new watch collector last year with no problems.

I remember Wolf being much cheaper just 2-3 years ago. A 10 piece watch box was around 200-300, and now the same boxes are going for 450-500. Moving upmarket is fine, but quality should reflect that as well.
