First Rolex - 16600

I walked out of HQ Milton today with my first Rolex and I couldn't be more pleased. I went in thinking either Sub 14060 or SD 16600 but as soon as I tried this one on the matter was settled. This could easily be my only watch. Shout out to Kazu and the HQ Milton team for being super helpful, answering all my questions and for being excited to just chat about watches. I will be back!

Ben

Congrats and nice pick up. I hardly ever take mine off. It's the most comfortable watch i've ever put on my wrist.

That's beautiful, the red bezel looks fantastic in this shot, and although I've never been a lover of yellow bracelets I think this combination has worked some magic on me.

Cool....

But gotta ask the question since I am somewhat in the same boat....why the 16600?

More heft? Fit better? Date but hate cyclop?

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. I couldn't be happier with it. It took me a while to make my way to Rolex after starting with Omega, Panerai & IWC, but I'm glad I did. I can't imagine it will be my last, either.

As far as why I chose the SD over the Sub - both are great and really no complaints about the Sub at all. I just like how this one sits a little higher off the wrist, has a little more wrist presence (although not much) and is a little less common out in the wild.

I also really dig vintage Subs so I might go there some day. For my first Rolex, however, I wanted something I could wear every day, get wet, etc. So I thought this fit the bill.
