New Record Wait

Buddy at work helping me search for a DBlue called an AD in Omaha who claimed to have a 10 YEAR wait list for the piece. Amazing...

My AD told me the waiting list was 200 years for the BLRO. And that the watch was only for their most loyal of customers.

Even if I calculated that (2 per year and 400+ on the wait list) I wouldn't even say it to a customer out loud. lol. What a dick move.

That's silly. Just save up a few months more and get it from a trusted seller at a small premium over MSRP. I dont see the point of waiting that long for something.

I think the wait time is directly correlated to the spend amount. Spend $250k and I bet your wait time is 25 days...

I'd say the wait time is directly correlated to the degree of F.O. intended to be conveyed.

Why not just buy from a forum dealer? I don't understand all this waiting unless you just REALLY want your name on the warranty card.

Record wait

My Ad said he's gotten one per year since release and they stopped the list at 100. He was about to say soooo and I interrupted him and said I can do the math. It seems people are buying on Grey market. A couple of weeks ago there were like 121 on Chrono and now its down to 88. Either that or they're not selling and the dealers took them down so they don't keep paying for the listing??

Agree. Just a way of saying this without actually saying it.

New Record Wait

That’s it, 100 years only!

Please me give the name of that AD so I can add my name to the list....

Such utter BS!

I actually have no respect for any salesperson that blurts out such idiotic nonsense.

They are not ultra hard to get mainly because it is not as widely sought as,say, the BLRO or BLNR. Price is higher, but it is an amazing piece. It is not terribly over MSRP from a TS.

I concur. The SA can choose to be polite, or he can choose to insult and belittle the customer. I'm sure it's not company policy to piss on (and thereby piss off) customers, so it must be a personal attack on the SA's part.

When I was shopping, my SA (Ben Bridge Honolulu) was polite and actually apologetic that he couldn't sell me the piece I was seeking. I appreciated that.

You use the term "small premium." You must be a TS.

All this seems odd to me. I was offered one several months ago and turned it down because I really didn’t like the watch. Are they all that rare?

Stubborn and would like to build on relationship with AD to get other pieces in the future.

Year 9 - apologies but the model just got discontinued. You could buy it gray with a hefty premium

I'm not interested in wait lists. If I need to go on one I don't want the watch, at least from that source.

My wait was 0 days. I was just very lucky to be first in the door at Fourtane (SDGO Boutique) and they had a 126660 D-blue so I bought it. There is a thread on here about that very amazing journey.

My local Patek AD was telling someone to wait 20 years for a Nautilus! I nearly fell off my seat!

No sure it's a personal attack, or if the SA is simply trying to imply power they think they have as the "gatekeeper" of the list (and thus, of the desired watch). I've seen it a few times in some ADs I've stopped into, where the SAs are asked 10+ times a day for the hot pieces that they feel they don't need to be nice to anyone to make a sale, it's pretty much a given fact they'll sell one. For me, I've noticed a distinct difference in attitudes when I wear a Seiko MM300 (or Certina DS PH200m, or vintage Seiko 6105 diver) vs when I wear my Rolex into an AD that doesn't know me.

I've been told basically the same thing by my AD, that the new pieces are being reserved for customers with significant spending history with them, so I understand. My $20K over the last 6 years is nothing compared to those that spend $45k every year... Got it. But they were nice about it, like it sounds BB was to you. (I've been to the Honolulu Ben Bridges in Ala Moana, and the guy in the main shop was very nice; the SA in the Rolex-specific shop was a bit snooty and pushy...)
