G shock battery level

I have a new G shock. I have been keeping it propped up on a sunny windowsill when I am not wearing it. I have put in under a halogen lamp for a few hours at night. I wear it indoors and outdoors. But the battery indicator is glued to medium. How do I get it to High? Maybe it takes awhile and I am impatient.
