Getting old with my taste? Incoming Patek!

Arrived for my birthday yesterday. Watch much older than me. There’s an interesting back story behind this Patek 2526 with the rare black dial. Connections made and authenticity verified...

This looks like the watch John Reardon was selling?

It's 36mm. My wrist is 6.5 inches and it fits very nice.

This is a confirmed authentic black lacquer dial from Patek but its not enamel. I personally would have a hard time with enamel since they have been notoriously fragile and I like to wear my watches. The difference is not noticable to the naked eye until you loupe it. Lacquer actually looks nicer at most angles but enamel has that very special finish when you loupe it.

Nice

But I wear mine I was initially quite concerned about the fragility of the dial but it is quite safe as long as you don’t overdo the activity when wearing it

That one looks amazing Well done again

Thanks man! I did read this before pulling the trigger; fell in love with the movement the moment I opened the case back. However I do think the 2526 has appreciated quite a bit since that article so not sure if they are confirmed bargains anymore like they used to be in 2015.

I love the Calatrava line but didn't want a production model since they are larger and to me there are lots of vintage pieces with character out there.

Beautiful watch...not old taste but refined!

Love the example, love the 18k rotor pics... how about a shot of the iconic stylized crown?

enjoy in good health!

Looks amazing and it is a great reference.

Enjoy!

Not old, mature taste I would say.

I love the finer Stippling in older movements. Takes time, yet worth it. Congrats on acquiring a great vintage piece!
