makes you think Omega is ripping us off :)

the fakes are crazy good nowadays...luckily still no good fakes of the moonwatch, one of few watches you can feel pretty good about buying third party and not getting a fake. but i am sure its just a matter of time before they are able to build a replica movement and get the dial spacing right.

This is scary...so I'll pay good money for a piece I love only to get a fake??
Wish there's a manual to automatically detect a fake.

That's crazy. I've never bought a pre-owned watch before but something like this would certainly give me pause before I did.

Impressive! Reminds me of LV as years ago fakes were easy to spot. Today, certain fakes in my opinion might be made slightly better in some circumstances than the real thing. A mechanical timepiece is a while 'nother challenge. Imagine if they fake a 321b(!). Just wow!

Wonder how this might also affect used pricing of the real deal.

Good fake, I picked out which it was fairly quickly. The key is if you are going to buy a watch in a situation that it could be fake then you need to pay close attention. Best advice is AD or Trusted Seller... and don’t worry about it.

Unless the ADs are selling fakes, my Omegas are OK. They give me enough incentives to come back to them.

Scary regardless

Scarey indeed.

I guess with omega prices going higher/ higher was only a matter of time before the fakers started doing what they’ve done with rolex for years

All I can say is "wow." I saw this yesterday when it hit my YouTube feed, and I was blown away by how detailed the fakes are getting. I couldn't believe how they put a fake movement on top of the real movement to give it the same look. It was very hard to pick out the genuine one in the video.

Just watched this. Eye opening for sure. I spotted a subtle difference in the crown guards right off the bat, but when you’re not looking at them both side by side it’s not something you’d be likely to notice.

This is rather scary indeed. Even the movement was copied to great detail.

Yeah it think about how much they will be asking for them. If it is a fake with that qualities they are going to be asking for a lot of money. Buy from trusted seller with good rap.

No reason for alarm. Just buy from AD or trusted seller. Most of the trusted sellers allow you time to authenticate with a watchmaker.

So, no big deal for most. But for guys looking at buying at a bargain it will be a problem.

None of this is a surprise.

Look at some of the Rolex replicas these days. They're super-fakes. So incredibly crazy how close they are to authentic. And they cost $500+ -- which seems like a lot (to me) for a fake.

That said, to a trained eye, or an experienced collector, you can still find the diffs.
