Yes that’s 2017 Ultimate SLX 8.0. Very good bike. I prefer the Aeroad as it’s more of an all rounder but if you’re climbing a lot more than on the flats, then the ultimate is ideal.

My real passion is kitesurfing. This Tag Calibre 5 is my kite watch. Maybe someday, a 114060 will replace this Aquaracer...

I’ll get us started. Here’s my Tudor BB ETA with my other love, 14lbs of baby blue aero carbon sitting on 25in deep dish wheels. The perfect go fast/look fast smokescreen for slow legs and bad knees.

Best thing about cycling is that it’s a lifetime hobby and you can still look pro with all the right gear

Great bikes btw, always loved the look of that Canyon.

Congrats on making it to that level, I can only imagine what dedication and effort it must have taken by you. Kudos.

I started very late and raced a bit, got invited to join a serious team with a coach and a very demanding training regime. Now out of action after a crash last year.

I have also perfected ‘looking pro’ - it’s almost as important as clocking PR’s

This is (part of) my team support box. Working on bikes has taken me all over, and there’s lots of pleasure to be found standing in a pit or riding in the backseat of a car following the lead group. For me, it’s much, much more enjoyable than throwing a leg over a bike.

I’m a fan of things that go fast so the Daytona gets to take trips to the track...
