What on earth, is a...'fence'?
It sounds awful.

I need to stain my cedar fence before winter. Curious, does is go on even easily or do you have to be careful? Let me know if you learn any tips and good luck!

Sand it first!!! The smoother the better. Cuts down on stain, beer and bandaids required. Also reduces the strokes required to fill the cracks (gigitty).

Or call someone to do it.

Stained my cedar house many times , clean it ,then brush less then three days super easy .

Your fence ,what kind is it ? Mine is board on board , I spray it , way faster , never timed it but at last 5x faster, wait for a very calm windless day . Wear a good respirator, and you’ll go through more stain . I’d never brush my fence again ,ever .

I can’t imagine trying to sand a cedar fence , power wash yes, use a brightener yes .

Well now that’s sorted out - you lost 10 - fence gained 10 - so you’ll never have to sort it again!

Just don’t look at the fence, problem solved.

Or pay a neighborhood kid to do it.

5-days...lots of time in that.

Based on cost avoidance alone, does it work out to minimum wage?
