UK insurance for market value
I am about to purchase a 16710 and I want to be covered for the watch at market value, can anyone recommend a decent company to go with?
I have home insurance that covers personal, but this is only to £6000 max per item, and the watch I'm looking at is between £10-£11k |

Hi I'm also a New Rolex owner and have insured it with Ripe Valuables, It was easy to get a quote and the cover offered seemed to fit my needs. I must stress though I haven't used them for a claim and hopefully never will!

If you have a few quality watches such as Rolexes add in some jewellery and its surprising just how much valuables you may have lying around then look for suitable insurance. The premiums will shock you. As an alternative and if you have a suitable location consider installing a safe. A good quality safe not the ones from Amazon which you can open with a strong magnet. It may cost you more to start with but its a one off cost.

A safe may be useful for some things, but it shouldn’t be considered as a replacement for insurance which will generally cover robbery as well. A safe will buy time during a burglary but should the contents be taken insurance would cover the loss. Some insurers do stipulate items be kept in a safe if not worn and you’re not at home though. It may also provide a discount on a valuables policy.
