SOLD: Freshly Serviced Vintage GRAND SEIKO 5722-9991 (1967)
Just serviced with a correct new-old-stock acrylic crystal, and new case and crown seals, this is an unusually superb example of the final version of the classic Grand Seiko Self-Dater, with the more modern dial layout and upgraded 5722B movement.
Condition The large-wearing, thick-lugged case is in excellent condition with very sharp chamfers, bright surfaces, and no polishing evident. The caseback and its gold medallion are in super shape with bold text still present. The silver-sunburst dial and all three hands are in very good condition, with just two very small, barely visible marks on the dial near the 2 and 7 o’clock markers. Dial printing is still sharp with no ink bleed and the applied Seiko and GS logos and hour markers are clean. The original, Seiko-signed winding crown operates perfectly, both for winding and setting the time and quick-set date. Timekeeping is around +6 secs/day and the newly overhauled 35-jewel movement running great (260+ amplitude/0.0 beat error) with a 48-hour power reserve. Facts & Figures Production date: March 1967. Case: 36.5mm x 10.5mm. Lug width: 19mm. Lug to Lug: 44mm. Movt: Manual-wind Seiko 5722B, 35 jewels, hacking, quickset date. BPH: 19,800. PR: 48+ hrs Crystal: NOS acrylic (part# 327W07AN). Strap: New Hirsch 19mm brown leather in the original style (see first pic). Price: US$2,250 including DHL to most countries.
