We named our son Benjamin and really like the name. Also as another possibility would be Jacob or you could use one of these two names for a middle name!!!

Congratulations Colin! I know picking names is hard, I'm in the same boat! Except I don't have til November to make up my mind... I'm having my boy on Monday!(the 18th)
I like your pick Grayson! Similar in your trend, I like Ronan too. Keep us posted!

We named our boys after Biblical heroes, of the Bible stories we enjoyed the most, who had characteristics that we wanted our boys to emulate.
Is there a relative you wanted to honor? Someone who is a personal hero of yours? I would recommend a name that has some intrinsic meaning to you. At some point, your son is going to ask how he got his name. My first name (it isn't Boopie) has historical, religious, and familial significance to my family (I am the third generation in a row with my first name). Likewise, my husband's parents spent a considerable amount of time pondering his name, and picked a historical and religious name. To contrast, I went to elementary school with a girl named Melanie. She said she was named after the character in "Gone With the Wind." Even as a child, I found that to be so shallow, that I felt sad for my classmate. Obviously, some do not care, and name their kid after a Hollywood actor or actress of the moment. I also recommend against naming your kid after the place where he was conceived. A few people in Hollywood are stuck with names like that (Ione Skye, Bryce Dallas Howard, etc). I personally would think it odd to imagine my parents making whoopie every time I had to write out my middle name on a document. Finally, pick a name that is easy to pronounce and spell, sounds exactly like it is spelled (I know someone named "Arther"--he has spent his entire life telling people that his mom spelled it wrong, but that is how his name is really spelled), and is undisputably a male name. |

Thanks for all the input gentlemen. We have put a lot of hard thought into the name situation and have still not nailed it. I guess we will know it when we hear it.
We have decided the middle name will be William. Thanks |
