16800 matte dial
I saw one in the mid 6 mill serial numbers and did some research and found out the first batches are different from the rest. A so called special dial in the submariner book. Anybody have any pics or info as to why the dial is different or desireable. Thanks

The early ones did not have the gold surrounds on the hour markers.

Ok thanks, I saw that info but also read In a post there is a special 16800 matte dial that might have been before the mark1....in the post it said this dial can be found in the book about submariners. I just didn’t know if anybody had a pic of it. The watch in question is 6.5 or 6.45 mill serial so probably a mark1 dial but just double checking if anybody has info on the “special” dial. Thanks for the help
