I think it depends on the intended use of the watch. For someone looking for a personal use watch and family heirloom engravings like this ruin the appeal. For a collector, the connection and value is different. But that makes for a smaller pool of potential buyers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well here is a small update. The bracelet and case back have been completed. Michael always sends some after photos prior to shipping. Here is what I received.
The case back looks brand new and it cost less than I thought. He removed some damaged links, man I had no idea how far gone this bracelet was. |

Wow! Those links. Must have been lifting serious weight/repetitive flexing the bracelet

I think its a shame that the engraving has gone, would of kept it, can imagine another 20 years down the line a story appearing where the original owner has been found etc.
Excited to see the bracelet. My late fathers Datejust needs doing but really cant bring myself to post the bracelet halfway round the world.

I think you made the right choice removing the engraving. It’s yours now. Do what you like.

Agree, I wouldn’t use his services again. I took my 16710 to him to get the lugs rebuilt. I got a quote from him for 580 USD and it would take approx 3-4 weeks but when I took my watch to him this changed to approximately 1250 USD and around 6 months. They said it would look brand new so I thought ok. I asked if they could post the watch back to me and they said they could FedEx it me. I got an email 6 weeks later saying my watch was ready so I asked if they could post it back to me. Then they tell me they can send it via the post but only insured up to $6000 or FedEx it with no insurance which should have been explained to me when I dropped the watch off. I still can’t understand how they don’t have proper insurance in place. I ended up having to arrange my own insurance though Inforsure. I finally got my watch back and there is still a slight curve on the inner part of the lugs which should have been fully built up. Yes the watch looks a lot better than it did but when I’m told it will look like it just left the factory then that’s what I expect. Has anyone used MY, Rolliworks and LAWW? And who delivered the rest results? |

I will post some after photos of the bracelet. I also had another bracelet restored for another Sub I own. He was pretty good, the turn around was six weeks, but I would be skeptical if it was returned sooner. At least I know he is thorough. He found all those cracked links that I was completely unaware of. I guess my only gripe is the cost after the quote. Replacement end pieces to links cost $100USD each and thats it, you have to pay it if you want your bracelet back. So for two bracelets and the case back I ended up paying $500 more than I was quoted initially. |

Rolliworks has my vote currently for quality of work, ease of communication, pricing and turnaround time. Lets see if they can continue their quality of work and turnaround as they continue to get busier and busier.. So far, so good.

Hi, well the bracelet and case back were returned this morning. They were stickered up like new watches, which is pretty cool. Both the case back and bracelet look brand new and ready to use for a further 30 years. (I also had a bracelet for a 1997 14060 serviced also)

The watch I traded for this I received for free in another deal as a sweetener. I then sold the other watch from that same deal and made $2500 profit. Deduct the cost for the bracelet repair and the case back engraving removal and I think I am doing ok This came as a full set, box papers and even its sales receipt. The previous owner thought it was so far gone it was worthless. |
