That $250,000 diamond necklace that she loves ($150,000 profit) becomes more desirable if there is a little something special for the husband too. If I was an AD I would hold some back.

Also, I know that it can sometimes be hard to get certain BMWs, such as the M2, and that you need a history to get one.
Yes the best and hottest models are often available only to established customers or celebrities. Stop into Porsche and tell them you want the GT2RS or one of the many 911 special editions. If you don't have history with the dealer you'll think you walked into a Rolex AD by mistake. Ferrari is much worse.

I think the better analogy would be if Porsche made all of their "regular" models impossible to get and made you buy a "special" model in order to get a regular Panamera, Cayenne, etc...

Actually the regular models for Rolex are DJ, DD, or OP; these are the majority of their productions.

of course not - it's those 30 tourists that want to buy and sell them for a quick buck,

Right, because they are soooo rare! Come on man, wake up! These are not faberge’ eggs. Let me guess, you think DavidSW is the only one who has all of these models in stock??

Same with WoS. They told me they check stock across all their branches, and can get an in stock model within 7 days. Failing that, they will order from Rolex.

To think when i purchased my first sub 12 years ago in london for 2840 and waited a whole month i thought that was crazy and now people are paying 2.5x and waiting 18 months.

The world has gone mad or the greed has become paramount

Looking at the 1st qtr results in general the UK is also stockpiling in advance of Brexit.

I imagine the vaults are full and yet they are still artificially controlling supply through the year.

Love this thread.....

Spend thousands on things you don’t want to get something you do.....I just troll my them now with requests for jewellery etc that I have no intention of buying to see what ‘Special bonuses’ materialise!

It’s fun to see when they crack and backtrack on their Rolex unavailability line

Then discuss their ‘white lies’ whilst they stutter and stammer!

Love it mate.

Would I F go down a rabbit hole of purchases I do not particularly want in order to secure something I do.

We are not here to have monkeys made out of us.
