Looks like they were leaked - I originally saw them when Rolexpassionreport posted them on IG

A decent set of releases - I do wish that they weren’t leaked and that the brand had the ability you drum up the hype ahead of them appearing on their website.

I do expect some more releases from them this year.

I like the look of what looks like the 5396p, maybe that will be the last of the series. Prefer the original in line to the salmon one. The rest a bit uninspiring, let’s see! Hoping for a new calatrava.

Thanks for sharing, I'm glad to see the 5980 is back. Interesting choice of new strap. We'll see if it ages well.

I'm surprised to see the 5160R and gem-set 5270P back.

The 5236P is always a fantastic piece to see, I'm sure this outfit will suit it very well.

More gold yes for the sport line, allowing better margin and switching the fashion to precious metal. The strong "steel" trend (for luxury watches) was quite recent. Gold was always prefered versus steel. But steel was more afordable and the sport watches made steel appealing in the luxury field, even more than gold. Like last decade's very low interests rates, the fact steel was valued better than gold was the anomaly.

My opinion is that Patek will put forward gold again and hope for making steel old school/less appealing/less desirable (veblen effect, etc...). We'll see if they succeed but knowing that people usually tend to like what's new (even if it requires some time to digest), steel may not be as appealing as today in the years to come.

This doesn't take out it's lower msrp price, lighter weight and stronger resistance which are useful assets.

Yes, this is a leak, the new collections will be unveiled on tuesday or wednesday at the beginning of the W&W fair. Maybe the day before via the Patek owner newsletter.

Only a few days to wait!

I presume the rose aquanaut is ladies due to the same colour way and looks as the annual Callander aquanaut and also seems to have diamonds on the hands, I am huge fan of the 5236, so looking forward to seeing this for real.

No diamonds on the hands, that’s just the poor picture quality. But it is a women’s model as you can tell from the pattern on the strap.

I like the 5980 as the current nautiilus and aquanaut chronos only time up to an hour, impractical.

It seems to lack the side pushers, so it could be adjusted by the crown like the 5326. The design might work if there is a day/night indicator bellow the HOME lettering (where the hour baton would be)

They do seem to be pushing precious metal on their sports lines, but I disagree this move will make steel less appealing. If anything, by having fewer and fewer steel pieces, they become more sought after, specially considering this is how the lines were originally conceived, so a steel nautilus / aquanaut will always be more genuine to some collectors.

If I had to guess, Patek is slowly discontinuing steel aquanauts and nautiluses in order to move these hyped lines more upscale (and hugely profiting from that) and opening space for the soon to be announced new sport line in steel and maybe other metals (titanium?), which can be priced more attractively, opening Patek to a younger and affluent generation.

I must say that the only watch I’m excited about is the 5980 with the Nylon style strap…..
That looks really good!

The 5980 looks like it’s WG as the date has a frame similar to the 5811.

Nothing super exciting but I do like the 5160 a lot - glad it’s back - such a lovely piece with the engravings on the case and the officer case back

Knowing that Patek wants to push more WG, that they phased out the 5164A, that 5711 was phased out for the 5811 in WG… if these are the releases I’d bet 5:1 those both are in WG.

Thanks for the insight. That was my hunch. Unfortunate that all these classic sports watches are heavily into PM at this point.

What’s interesting is that it seems like a common thing and industry right now particularly if you look at what Rolex is teasing

They will do well to intro a new sports line to replace/compete with the Naut/Aqua. AP have done a pretty good job with the once much derided Code, which is now quite popular here, so AP for all the shots they take at being just about the Royal Oaks have actually done something new which PP will hope to emulate.
