Icon20 Your Favorite Throwback Picture of One Watch

I still have my 6549 and I love it.
One of my favorite pieces.
It was bought from a women who inherited it from her father. Her father wore it a bit during his tenure in the army, but then sent it home to put away as he bought a stainless steel counterpart that he continued to wear.
This is one of my favorite pics.
Just a beaut.

Please share your favorite pic and piece and give us a little history. I figured with all this extra time we have.

like an idiot i sold it, back when i was flipping watches on TZ. Never understood why, but IWC had that model with 3 different dials, but the silver one was the only one with the elevated or 3D digits that seem to give it a character the others just couldn't match.

One of my earlier Rolex purchases (around 1988). A 1967 Rolex 6466 Oyster Precision 31mm on Oyster stretch bracelet. Still have it, picture shown taken today. The Submariner is for scale, my everyday watch.

That is a beautiful watch, maybe it will come around again. Love the way they just took some little bites out of the 10, and 11 markers. Must have great lume!

just went back and clikked on the photo, and finally got the enlarged version (these old eyes aren't what they used to be). That watch is a stunner -

Got this back when I played a lot of D&D, collected comic books, dressed like a dork, didn’t know how to talk to girls, and had a sweet Schwinn banana seat bike that I eventually crashed on a VERY poorly-designed (by my best friend and kid brother) ramp, breaking my hand and splitting my chin open.

This belonged to a US Air Force pilot who wore it in 'Nam. Ironically, he survived the war but his flying career was ended when a bird crashed through his windscreen on a training mission back in the US, seriously injuring him.

The watch came via a very reputable dealer with a verifiable letter from the owner's widow (his passing wasn't related to the bird strike), which is why so much is known about its history. It has full box and papers.

I'm honored to be looking after it for as long as it will have me.

No, I believe the crystal may have been replaced before I bought it, but it's authentic and correct.

Gotta be this photo of my black 6263 that I took while stuck in NYC traffic on my old Triumph Bonneville. Came with a full set that I ended up selling in 2014 to help buy a house. I later replaced it with a silver/white 6263 full set, but I always miss this one.
