Any info on this Datejust Buckley?
Hi guys, I’m new to this forum as I’m planning on purchasing my first luxury watch.
I came across this Datejust today, and started to do some research but came up with nothing. I couldn’t even find a picture of a Datejust with the same color theme. Can someone shed some light with regard to the model number, and authenticity of it by the look? Its lume does have an genuine patina to it. It is listed at around 6,600USD. Thank you for your help! |

These dark grey ones are rare supposedly. Nice that it has the white hands. Yours could be a 1600 if Im not mistaken. For $6600, it better come with box and papers?

Just to put it into perspective, 6600usd is the price of a brand new Datejust 36mm.
I would want this Buckley to be pristine and not need a service soon.

That’s a very rare Buckley with the even rarer white handset. I would pick it up immediately.

There are dozens of that watch but the smooth bezel makes me think the dial was added later. 16030 smooth bezels had tritium hands methinks. Here is an old listing: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=482229 Many model 16014 pictures on the net but with fluted WG bezels. But I can’t tell from your photo if the dial color is black or deep blue. The white hands were mainly on the blue dialed ones. Here are a couple of picture to show how lighting can affect dial color perception. Both are blue dials from same seller. Angle and lighting can fool the eye. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

You’ve got to get a lot more pics, and I’d think that was a 16000, not a 1600. My understanding is that non-steel hands were added to Buckleys after the 1600/1601/1603 models. Here’s my 1603 grey dial Buckley with steel hands which is pretty rare too.
