A 2008 model year Omega has which 2500 movement? A,B,C,D?

I was looking to purchase a brand new in box Omega 42mm on bracelet at an awesome price. I was wondering if it contains the 2500C, 2500B, or 2500D movement?

Are there any particular years that Omega modified the movement?

The reason I ask is because I heard the later letter codes after the movement (ex. 2500D) are more reliable and have better technology involved.

Thanks!

100% not the 2500D. the 2500D started appearing mid 2011

Ok thank you for clarification... Do you think I should stay away from a brand new 2008 model?

If it the Planet Ocean, almost 100% sure it has the C.

All Planet Oceans have the C movement except for very recent ones beginning in 2011 which have the D.

The triple level escapement is the same technology used in the 8500 movement. As to whether it will be more reliable is open to debate. More complications, such as the new escapement, give rise to more opportunities for problems. Only time will tell.

Over time, I have owned seven co-axial movements including the 2500(A), the 2500B, and the 2500C. I have never had a problem with any of them. My current 2500C Liquidmetal LE has been running rock solid for two years and is the most accurate watch in my collection.
