Is it just me or does the dial look like it's a bit off centered? Looks like it has been rotated a little bit anti clockwise. :
Otherwise it looks like it's in a great condition, you may need to ask if some parts have been refurbished or perhaps changed (the seller says he doesn't know a lot about the watch, is it possible that aftermarket pieces have been installed?).

Dial looks redone and case looks heavily polished, so based on those two factors I would pass. It's an ok looking watch, and the bigger sized Omegas are harder to find.

Yea, it looks like a refinished dial for sure. I just don't see many 38mm size omegas, so thats why I am interested.

They come up more often in stainless steel, they pop up on ebay once in a while.

You should insist on seeing the inside of the caseback as well as the movement. It looks like one of the many Omega movements cased in South America in the 40's and 50's in 18k gold. They were all large cases like this one and larger. A couple of eBay regulars are always selling them. The cases are solid gold but very thin. The case backs are almost paper thin.
If you get the photos of the caseback, it will be the pearling, or absence of, along with the hallmarks and Omega stamp that will be your clues. The generic unsigned crown is also a clue. It's also important to know the cal of the movement if you want to determine a fair value. This watch has a rather poor redial IMHO and the dial is not correctly mounted in the case... A very ominous indicator of the expertise of those who worked on or handled the watch. I would pass on the watch..I think it's way overpriced for what you are getting.
